Bibbidie Bobbidie Boo!

Have you heard of the Bibbidie Bobbidie Boutique? It is a boutqiue where little girls under the age of 15 can get their hair and makeup done to look just like a princess!

Bibbidie Bobbidie Boutique!
This can cost up to $300, which is pretty pricey for hair glitter and a dress!

So, we researched something a bit more affordable, but still just as great of an experience!
On Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom there is a little barber shop in the front of the park!
This is a great experience not only for girls under 15 but everyone of all ages!
The barber shop provides 1st haircuts, but with special Disney Magic, you recieve (with price of haircut) a Mickey ear hat! It's only $18!
First Haircut Ears!

Another service that is great for the whole family is glitter/confetti hair! This is the affordable alternative to the boutique and its for all ages!
You can pick your own colors and styles but heres an example of what they look like!

Have fun!

Concert Series

More often than not, Disney hosts free concerts (with park admission) at the American Pavilion at Epcot! These are great family-fun activities, if you just come for the concert or to take a break from walking around!

These concerts range from who is playing, enerally throughout the year it is just cover bands - still entertaining though.

During the special events held such as Food and Wine there is the Eat to the Beat series. This included artists like Sugar Ray, Starship, Boyz II Men, Smashmouth, Hanson, Sister Hazel, Billy Ocean, and Survivor.

But at Holiday time, there are the candlelight processions! These are beautiful programs which feature a different celebrity with a choir of cast members!

Here is the list for the series (in order), in case you were interested!
Geena Davis, Neil Patrick Harris, Whoopi Goldberg, Andy Garcia, Blair Underwood, James Denton, Jodi Benson, Lea Salonga, Alfre Woodard, Trace Adkins, Gary Sinise, Amy Grant, Marlee Matlin / Jack Jason

Surprisingly I have never stopped to watch any concerts, many times the ones I would have loved to see where when I was working! Maybe I'll make it over for candlelight! Hope you were able to find someone you would be interested in seeing too!

Sorcerer Mickey Saves the Day!

As you all might know, Mickey has taken on many roles over the years! He is pretty famous for being a Sorcerer in the movie Fantasia! Walt Disney created the movie to prove that good can beat evil and Mickey proved it!

Years later, Disney has created a free interactive game located throughout Magic Kingdom! This game turns you into a sorcerer, helping Mickey win over the Magic Kingdom from all the evil villains.

All you need is your park ticket!

You start out in the original Firehouse on Main Street, and they can explain the game in more detail!
Firehouse, Magic Kingdom
I have been playing this game since in started, it allows you to collect 70 playing cards, that make up a full deck to help you save the Kingdom! This is a great way to collect memories without paying a dime!

Some playing cards!

At the top of this picture the gold key is your key to access all the portals around the park. Everytime you visit the systems saves all your info, so it is continuous! (pretty neat!)

Portal in Adventureland
Above, is one of the portals in Adventureland. They are digital screens, that only are visible when you scan your key!

If you are going to the park make sure and stop by the Firehouse to see what it's all about!

Nightlife at Disney

Don't let Disney fool you - there is a nightlife for the grown-ups too!
Downtown Disney, which is a free shopping area has a nightlife area called Pleasure Island!

There are multiple bars and restaurants which include House of Blues, Bongos, Splitsville, Paradiso 37, Raglan Road, and Portabello! These are all great places to spend the night.

I have been to many throughout the years, but most recently House of Blues. This was great, they have live music all night long! Food and drinks were reasonably priced (not Disney pricing!). They are family appropriate during the day and turn into a great young-nightlife!
What I liked about all these places is that it was free to get in and listen to their music, no requirement to spend any money at all!

At Downtown Disney there is a place for everyone! Even if you decide to bring the kids at night there is a Ghirardelli ice cream shop to hang out in!

Food and Wine Update!!

I was lucky enough to be able to go to the opening weekend of Food and Wine Festival! They included 2 new booths this year, Terra and Florida Local!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

This is the beginning of our day!
This is the brochure, which could also be saved as a keepsake!
& my birthday button! I was celebrating my 21st!

This is my 2012 Food and Wine Pin- it was around $11

Cheese Fondue, and a few drinks! From Germany and Cheese Booths!

Peach Bellini from Italy!

Souvenirs!

Everyone likes taking a memory home, I mean it's so hard to walk through all those shops and not being able to afford everything! Disney makes it quite expensive sometimes, but with a few tips you might be able to save your wallet!

  • Pins! Pins! Pins! - These are one things I really enjoy collecting, they range from 5.95 to 13.95, these are great souvenirs because they are on the lower end of all things Disney, and they are SMALL! So you dont have mickey everywhere around your house!

Here's a sneak peak at my collection!

I started my pin collection around 2005, I know, I am a Disney nerd!
This is one of my 2012 pins from early this year!

  • Buttons - If you are going to celebrate any special events you can visit Guest Services to get a celebration pin! Some include  birthdays, family reunions, anniversaries, and happily ever after!

  • I mentioned in my Food and Wine post, about the free passports for eating around the world! This is a limited time free souvenir so take advantage!

  • Kid Alert! : In Epcot, you can get a free Duffy bear cutout, mickey's friend, and get it stamped from all the coutnries you visit in the world showcase! This is a great activity that allows you to meet different cast memebers from around the world!
    • Most of the cast members are from the actual country you are 'in'

Good Luck!
